My name is Kasra, and I’m building an app called Lightpage. I’m hiring an experienced software engineer.

Lightpage is a personal notebook that writes back, using AI. People use it to brain dump and move their lives forward. It’s live on web and on the iOS. Early users love it

Before Lightpage, I was an engineer & and engineering manager at Airtable and Watershed.

Software engineer

I’m looking for an experienced software engineer who can ship improvements and features end-to-end.

Our stack is:

• TypeScript
• React Native (web & iOS)
• Postgres
• Cloudflare (Workers, Durable Objects, Queues, etc)

Some things you might work on:

• Improve the memory architecture. Give the AI has the most relevant context in every chat.
• Voice mode: let users talk to the AI by speaking.
• Smart tags: automatically organize notes & chats.
• Performance: Make the app launch instantly. The app has a copy of all the users' notes and chats for offline mode, but if there are a lot of notes/chats, the app launch gets slower right now.
• Make dictation more reliable. Sometimes the audio recording fails, sometimes the transcription network call fails, etc.
• Build a native desktop app wrapper using Electron or Tauri.
• Reduce costs by implementing batching for LLM jobs.

The ideal candidate will have experience with many of the following:

• High performance offline / local-first apps with sync (IndexDB, client side SQLite, etc)
• AI products (agents, chatbots, voice)
• Reliable & performant backend systems (e.g. background jobs, durable execution)
• Rich text editing
• Building apps that lots of people have used, particularly consumer apps

You’ll need a macOS or Linux computer, iPhone, and fast internet connection.
