Supports: Treasury, Logistics, Wholesale, and DTC Operations

ROLE SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior E-Commerce Accountant with deep operational expertise in Shopify, Amazon, inventory financing, logistics payables, and wholesale accounting.

This role will own financial execution and reconciliation across all revenue channels and inventory flows, ensuring accurate payables oversight, receivables tracking, and clean financial reporting to support forecasting, liquidity management, and lender reporting.

This is not a bookkeeping role. Candidates must have hands-on experience managing complex e-commerce and wholesale accounting environments.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

E-Commerce Accounting & Reconciliation

•⁠ ⁠Reconcile Shopify settlements, payment processors, and clearing accounts

•⁠ ⁠Reconcile Amazon settlements, reserves, chargebacks, and fees

•⁠ ⁠Monitor refunds, returns, and timing impacts on revenue recognition

•⁠ ⁠Maintain channel-level revenue and fee accuracy

•⁠ ⁠Support UK entity accounting and FX settlement impacts

Inventory & Logistics Payables Oversight

•⁠ ⁠Manage and track inventory payables across vendors and financiers

•⁠ ⁠Oversee payment schedules for inventory financing partners including:

– Flexport inventory financing

– Kickfurther inventory financing

– India-based third-party inventory financiers

•⁠ ⁠Monitor 60/90-day inventory payment spreads and maturity schedules

•⁠ ⁠Coordinate payment timing with treasury and cash availability

•⁠ ⁠Review logistics invoices for payment readiness (in coordination with logistics team)

•⁠ ⁠Ensure freight, duties, and landed cost allocations are properly recorded

Payables Negotiation & Vendor Coordination

•⁠ ⁠Negotiate payment timing extensions where needed

•⁠ ⁠Manage vendor communications on payment schedules

•⁠ ⁠Support treasury in preserving liquidity through structured payables timing

•⁠ ⁠Track deposits, balances, and shipment-linked payment triggers

Wholesale Accounting & Support

•⁠ ⁠Oversee wholesale accounts receivable and collections tracking

•⁠ ⁠Support wholesale manager with financial reporting and account visibility

•⁠ ⁠Reconcile retailer invoices, deductions, and chargebacks

•⁠ ⁠Track drop ship billing, fulfillment charges, and vendor costs

•⁠ ⁠Monitor rep agency commissions and wholesale sales commissions

•⁠ ⁠Ensure commission accruals and payouts are properly recorded

Financial Close & Reporting Support

•⁠ ⁠Support monthly close processes

•⁠ ⁠Maintain accurate balance sheet accounts

•⁠ ⁠Assist with inventory and COGS allocations

•⁠ ⁠Prepare schedules for CFO forecasting and lender reporting

•⁠ ⁠Ensure CPA-ready documentation for year-end tax and audit work

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Candidates must demonstrate:

•⁠ ⁠5+ years accounting experience in e-commerce businesses

•⁠ ⁠Direct Shopify accounting and settlement reconciliation experience

•⁠ ⁠Direct Amazon Seller/Vendor Central accounting experience

•⁠ ⁠Inventory accounting and landed cost allocation experience

•⁠ ⁠Logistics and freight payment oversight experience

•⁠ ⁠Experience working with inventory financing structures

•⁠ ⁠Wholesale accounting and AR/AP management experience

•⁠ ⁠Commission tracking for sales reps or agencies

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Required:

•⁠ ⁠QuickBooks Online (Advanced preferred)

•⁠ ⁠Shopify financial reporting

•⁠ ⁠Amazon settlement reporting

•⁠ ⁠A2X or similar reconciliation tools

•⁠ ⁠Advanced Excel / Google Sheets

•⁠ ⁠Bill.com or AP automation tools

•⁠ ⁠Inventory platforms (Cin7, NetSuite, etc.)

•⁠ ⁠Multi-entity or international accounting exposure

This role is critical to financial visibility, liquidity preservation, and operational scalability as the company continues to grow across direct-to-consumer and wholesale channels.
