About Sunday Citizen
Sunday Citizen is a fast-growing DTC home and lifestyle brand on a mission to make comfort a lifestyle. Known for our buttery-soft bedding, cozy throws, and loungewear, we’ve built a loyal customer base in the US and are now expanding into the UK and international markets.
We’re passionate about great design, frictionless experiences, and sustainable, feel-good living.
Role Overview
We’re looking for an experienced, strategic, and hands-on Head of Operations & Logistics to lead and evolve our global supply chain and logistics network across the US and UK.
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for the end-to-end operational engine—from procurement and inventory planning to 3PL management, international freight, fulfillment, and post-purchase customer experience.
You will own the roadmap for scaling operations, drive cost-efficiency and performance, and lead a small but highly capable team while collaborating with leadership across product, eCommerce, finance, and CX.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Leadership
Define and execute the global operations strategy aligned with business goals and international expansion (US, UK, EU).
Build scalable systems, SOPs, and operational processes to support multi-region growth while maintaining operational excellence and profitability.
Partner with the CEO, GM, and Finance teams to manage logistics budgets, forecasts, and operational planning.
Lead and mentor a growing team across operations, logistics, and inventory management.
Act as the key cross-functional partner for Product, eCommerce, Planning, Marketing, and Customer Experience.
Support retail, wholesale, and Amazon operational initiatives as the company expands into omnichannel distribution.
Logistics & Fulfillment (US & UK)
Own relationships with 3PL and warehouse partners in the US and UK, including negotiating contracts and SLAs.
Oversee inbound freight from global manufacturing hubs to distribution centers.
Optimize container planning, customs clearance, and freight routing.
Ensure best-in-class fulfillment performance including OTIF metrics, return management, and customer satisfaction.
Continuously reduce cost per shipment while maintaining service levels.
Develop contingency planning and redundancy within logistics networks to mitigate disruption risk.
Inventory & Supply Chain
Own inventory planning, purchasing cadence, and stock allocation across channels and international markets.
Work with planning and merchandising teams to build robust demand forecasting models.
Optimize warehouse layout, inventory flow, and handling processes to improve delivery times and reduce operational costs.
Drive systems integration across Shopify Plus, ERP, WMS, and planning platforms.
Data, Reporting & Optimization
Develop and monitor operational KPIs including:
• Order accuracy
• Fulfillment speed
• Shipping cost per order
• Inventory turnover
• Return rates
Analyze logistics and operations data to identify inefficiencies, reduce waste, and improve service levels.
Lead cost optimization initiatives to improve contribution margin and operational performance.
Prepare operational reports and insights for the executive team to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
7+ years of experience in operations, logistics, or supply chain, including at least 3 years in a leadership or Head-of-level role within a DTC eCommerce company.
Proven experience scaling logistics and fulfillment operations across multiple geographies (US required; UK/EU strongly preferred).
Strong experience working with 3PL partners, global freight forwarders, import/export processes, and customs.
Strong commercial acumen with experience managing logistics budgets, vendor negotiations, and margin improvement initiatives.
Experience working with operational tools such as:
• Shopify Plus
• ShipBob
• Flexport
• NetSuite
• Inventory management systems
• WMS platforms
Experience managing ERP systems is required (Fulfil ERP strongly preferred).
Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Hands-on and execution-oriented—you are as comfortable diving into operational issues as you are presenting strategy to leadership.
Bonus Experience
Experience supporting Amazon operations, retail/wholesale distribution, or omnichannel fulfillment.
Experience working with sustainable packaging or logistics initiatives.
