As a fast-growing DTC brand, we are now expanding our footprint in wholesale and online marketplaces. We’re seeking a dynamic Sales Manager to drive growth in these channels and take Sunday Citizen to the next level.
Role Overview
We are hiring a Director of Wholesale & Partnerships to build a disciplined, margin-controlled $4M–$6M channel.
This is not a traditional wholesale sales role.
Do NOT target:
• Relationship-only salespeople
• Rep/showroom-driven candidates
• Volume-focused operators
We are seeking:
👉 A commercial operator with strong control over margin, SKU discipline, pricing, inventory, and systems execution
🧠 WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE (12 MONTHS)
• Build a $4M–$6M wholesale & partnerships channel
• Maintain strict margin discipline
• Limit assortment to ~15–25 core SKUs
• Scale dropship and affiliate channels profitably
• Establish strategic retail relationships for 2027 expansion (not 2026 dependency)
• Implement full visibility and control across wholesale operations (CRM + ERP integration)
🔧 CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Channel Ownership
• Build and manage wholesale + partnership channels
• Maintain control over pricing, margin, and assortment
2. SKU Governance (CRITICAL)
• Define and enforce tight SKU assortment (~15–25 SKUs)
• Prevent conflict with DTC and Amazon
3. Dropship Program Ownership (CRITICAL)
• Fully manage and optimize existing dropship programs with major retailers (e.g., Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, etc.)
• Improve:
• Product assortment
• Sell-through performance
• Margin contribution
• Ensure operational alignment with internal systems
👉 Candidate must have direct experience managing retail dropship programs
4. ERP System Management (REQUIRED)
• Work within existing ERP systems (e.g., Fulfill or equivalent)
• Manage:
• Order flow
• Inventory visibility
• EDI integrations
• Retail partner requirements
👉 Must be operationally fluent, not reliant on others
5. CRM Ownership (REQUIRED)
• Build and maintain a fully structured CRM for wholesale and partnerships
• Track:
• All accounts
• Pipeline status
• Communication history
• Revenue and performance
👉 No “informal” or fragmented account management
6. Affiliate & Media Partnerships
• Develop structured partnerships with:
• Media platforms
• Affiliate networks
• Strategic collaborators
Requirements:
• Must understand CAC, contribution margin, and inventory exposure
• No speculative inventory commitments
7. Wholesale Account Development
• Focus on:
• Premium boutiques
• Regional chains
• Hospitality / design trade
No mass-market expansion.
8. Trade Show Execution
• Own Dallas / Atlanta / Las Vegas strategy
• Pre-book meetings
• Execute and close within defined timelines
9. Channel Governance
• Enforce MAP pricing
• Maintain brand positioning
• Prevent discount leakage
• Protect margin integrity
✅ IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
• 5–10+ years in wholesale / partnerships / omnichannel retail
• Experience with premium consumer brands (home, apparel, lifestyle preferred)
• Proven ability managing:
• Wholesale + DTC coexistence
• Dropship retail programs
• ERP systems and EDI workflows
• CRM-driven account management
Must demonstrate:
• Strong operational discipline
• Ability to reject unprofitable revenue
• Structured thinking around profitability
• Systems-oriented mindset (data, process, visibility)
• Cross-functional collaboration with marketing, merchandising, and operations
💰 COMPENSATION
• Base: $80,000 – $90,000
• Commission:
• 3% on net new revenue
• 1–1.5% on maintained accounts
🎯 FINAL POSITIONING
We are building a controlled, profitable, brand-aligned channel.
This role requires someone who operates as:
