About the Role
Sunday Citizen is seeking a highly experienced Senior E-Commerce Bookkeeper / Accounting Manager to own the day-to-day accounting operations across Shopify, Amazon, and wholesale channels.
This is a hands-on execution role focused on maintaining clean, accurate financials, reconciling all sales channels, and providing clear visibility into cash flow and inventory. The ideal candidate has direct experience inside an e-commerce business and understands the operational flow of DTC, Amazon, and wholesale.
Core Responsibilities
Daily Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Manage all day-to-day bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online (or similar)
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date financial records across all accounts
- Ensure proper categorization of all transactions
Monthly Close & Reconciliation
- Perform monthly close process
- Reconcile all bank accounts, credit cards, and payment processors
- Reconcile Shopify, Amazon, and wholesale transactions (A2X or similar)
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Manage accounts payable, including scheduling payments with approval
- Handle accounts receivable: invoicing, collections, and payment posting
Inventory & COGS Tracking
- Track and reconcile inventory across ERP, 3PLs, and sales channels
- Maintain accurate COGS and margin reporting
- Work with internal team to validate inventory and costing data
Cash Flow Visibility
- Maintain a simple rolling cash flow tracker
- Monitor inflows, outflows, and upcoming obligations
- Flag any issues proactively
Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly P&L, balance sheet, and basic cash flow reports
- Provide simple variance insights vs prior periods
Systems & Experience Required
- Shopify (required)
- Amazon Seller/Vendor Central (required)
- QuickBooks Online (required)
- A2X or similar reconciliation tools
- ERP / inventory systems (Fulfil, NetSuite, or similar)
- Experience with 3PL and logistics flows
- Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills
Ideal Candidate
- 5+ years bookkeeping/accounting experience
- Direct experience inside an e-commerce or consumer products company
- Strong understanding of Shopify, Amazon, and wholesale flows
- Experience with inventory and COGS tracking
- Detail-oriented, organized, and reliable
- Able to work independently and take ownership
