Type: Full-time
About the Role
We're looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Merchandising Admin Assistant to support the operational and administrative side of the merchandising function. This is a data-driven role focused on maintaining accurate product, pricing, inventory, and trading information, rather than managing ecommerce storefronts or digital merchandising.
Working closely with Merchandising, Buying, Supply Chain, Finance, and Marketing, you'll play a key role in ensuring data accuracy, supporting commercial decision-making through reporting and analysis, and helping deliver an efficient merchandising operation.
This role is ideal for someone with strong administrative and analytical skills who enjoys working with large datasets and has experience supporting merchandising, buying, category, or commercial teams within a retail, wholesale, or consumer goods environment.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate product, pricing, supplier, and inventory information across merchandising and ERP systems.
Support product setup and ongoing maintenance, ensuring all product data is complete, accurate, and updated in a timely manner.
Perform regular audits of product, pricing, and stock data to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Produce weekly and monthly trading reports covering sales, stock performance, inventory, and key merchandising KPIs.
Analyse sales, inventory, pricing, and product performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
Support promotional activity by preparing pricing updates, product data, and merchandising administration.
Assist with product range administration, including new product introductions, discontinued lines, seasonal updates, and category maintenance.
Work closely with Buying, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to ensure data accuracy and resolve product or pricing queries.
Maintain spreadsheets, databases, and reporting tools used by the merchandising team.
Support stock management activities by highlighting availability issues, slow-moving products, replenishment opportunities, and inventory discrepancies.
Conduct competitor and market research to support merchandising and commercial planning.
Provide general administrative support to the merchandising team as required.
Requirements
2–4 years' experience in a Merchandising Admin Assistant, Merchandise Coordinator, Buying Assistant, Category Assistant, Commercial Analyst, Retail Merchandising Assistant, or similar merchandising administration role.
Experience supporting merchandising, buying, or category teams within a retail, wholesale, or consumer goods environment.
Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy when working with large volumes of product and inventory data.
Advanced Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, reporting, data validation, and working with large datasets.
Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret trading, inventory, and sales data.
Experience maintaining product, pricing, and inventory data across merchandising, ERP, inventory management, or product information systems.
Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across departments.
Proactive approach to identifying and resolving data or process issues.
Desirable Skills
Experience working with merchandising, ERP, inventory management, or product information systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Dynamics, VTEX, Magento, Shopify, or similar).
Previous experience within retail, wholesale, or consumer goods.
Familiarity with reporting or business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Looker, or Tableau.
Experience supporting promotional planning, pricing administration, stock management, or range management.
Exposure to ecommerce platforms is beneficial, but not essential.
Additional Information
This role is primarily focused on merchandising administration, product data management, pricing, reporting, inventory support, and commercial analysis. It is not a digital merchandising or ecommerce trading role. Experience managing Shopify stores, SEO, online merchandising, collections, or marketplace optimisation is considered a nice-to-have but is not the primary focus of the position.
