About Sunday Citizen
Sunday Citizen is a modern home and lifestyle brand that makes exceptionally soft, comfortable, thoughtfully designed products for everyday living. Its collections span bedding, home textiles, and lifestyle products, pairing elevated design with comfort and function.
Overview
Sunday Citizen is hiring a motivated, relationship-driven Wholesale Sales Representative to manage and grow its specialty store business. The role strengthens relationships with existing specialty accounts and actively opens new wholesale accounts.
Beyond field sales, this role owns the administrative side of the wholesale business: order management in our ERP, new account setup, reporting, and day-to-day coordination with operations and finance.
We welcome candidates who represent one brand exclusively, as well as independent representatives who carry a small portfolio of complementary, non-competing brands.
Key Sales Responsibilities
Manage, reactivate, and grow existing specialty store accounts through consistent outreach, follow-up, and account support.
Build and maintain strong relationships with buyers, store owners, and retail partners.
Identify and pursue new wholesale opportunities with specialty stores, boutiques, and other relevant retailers.
Present seasonal collections, best sellers, new launches, and reorder opportunities to accounts.
Follow up on line sheets, samples, orders, reorders, product availability, and account needs.
Drive sales growth by increasing order volume with current accounts and opening new business.
Track account performance and find ways to improve sell-through and repeat orders.
Attend and support trade shows, markets, buyer appointments, and industry events.
Keep the team informed on account activity, new opportunities, and upcoming shows in the territory.
Administrative & Systems Responsibilities
Enter, edit, and track wholesale orders in the company ERP system [e.g., NetSuite], ensuring accurate pricing, terms, quantities, and ship dates.
Process orders received through wholesale platforms such as Faire, NuORDER, or JOOR, and reconcile them with the ERP.
Set up and maintain new customer accounts, including credit applications, resale certificates, tax documentation, and shipping and billing details.
Keep account records, contacts, activity notes, and pipeline status current in the CRM [e.g., HubSpot].
Monitor open orders, backorders, and allocations, and update accounts on delivery timing or delays.
Work with operations on inventory, order status, shipping timelines, and customer service needs.
Support accounts receivable by following up on past-due invoices, payment terms, and credit holds with the finance team.
Coordinate returns, damages, shortages, and credit requests through the proper authorization process.
Track sample inventory, sample requests, and sample returns.
Maintain and distribute current line sheets, price lists, order forms, and marketing materials.
Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports, account performance summaries, and forecasts from ERP and spreadsheet data.
Handle trade show and market logistics, including registration, booth materials, appointment scheduling, and post-show order entry and follow-up.
Submit expense reports and travel documentation accurately and on time.
Qualifications
3–4+ years of experience in wholesale sales, specialty retail, showroom, territory sales, or account management preferred.
Existing relationships with specialty retailers, boutiques, buyers, and store owners strongly preferred.
Experience in home, lifestyle, women's, gift, or other complementary categories is a strong plus.
Strong knowledge of the specialty retail landscape in your territory.
Proven ability to grow existing accounts and open new business.
Experience attending trade shows, markets, and buyer appointments.
Hands-on experience with an ERP system for order entry, order tracking, and customer account management (NetSuite or similar preferred).
Experience with wholesale ordering platforms such as Faire, NuORDER, or JOOR.
Working knowledge of CRM tools for pipeline and account management.
Intermediate Excel or Google Sheets skills, including sorting, filtering, pivot tables, and basic formulas for sales reporting.
Familiarity with wholesale terms, credit applications, payment terms, and order-to-cash processes.
Strong communication, follow-up, and relationship-building skills.
Highly organized and detail-oriented, comfortable balancing field sales and travel with consistent administrative follow-through.
Able to manage multiple accounts, deadlines, and opportunities at once.
Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a strong relationship builder who already knows the specialty store business and their territory. They bring established retail relationships, know how to develop existing accounts, and can actively open new doors, while keeping orders, accounts, and reporting accurate behind the scenes.
For independent representatives, Sunday Citizen is especially interested in those carrying a small, curated portfolio of quality brands that complement Sunday Citizen rather than compete with it.
