Position Overview

Sunday Citizen is seeking an experienced Senior Home Textiles Sourcing & Production Manager / Sourcing Agent based in Vietnam to become our on-the-ground sourcing, production, and quality-control representative.

Sunday Citizen is actively looking to develop and expand its manufacturing base in Vietnam. We do not currently have an established factory network in Vietnam for this initiative. For this reason, existing factory relationships are a critical requirement for this position.

The successful candidate must be able to hit the ground running. We are not looking for someone who needs months to research the market and build a factory network from scratch. This person should already know qualified factories capable of producing our product categories and be able to introduce our existing products, begin sampling and development, negotiate costing and terms, and move qualified factories toward production as quickly as possible.

This is not a general apparel sourcing position. We are specifically looking for someone with deep, hands-on experience in home textiles and bedding, combined with strong technical product knowledge and an established factory network in Vietnam.

The person will work closely with our Senior Product Development Team and Senior Merchandising Manager, effectively becoming Sunday Citizen’s sourcing, production, and quality-control representative on the ground.

Key Responsibilities

• Leverage an existing network of Vietnamese home-textile factories to identify qualified manufacturing partners for Sunday Citizen.

• Introduce Sunday Citizen’s existing products to appropriate factories and quickly initiate sampling, costing, and product development.

• Source and manage production of bed sheets, comforters, knitted and woven blankets, bedding, loungewear, pajamas, and related home-textile products.

• Manage the full sourcing and production process, including factory selection, costing, negotiations, sampling, product development, production, quality control, lead times, and delivery.

• Work directly from tech packs, product specifications, existing samples, and construction requirements.

• Negotiate FOB pricing, MOQs, production terms, capacity, costs, and lead times directly with factory management.

• Visit factories regularly to evaluate machinery, technical capabilities, capacity, processes, quality systems, and overall suitability.

• Monitor production closely and troubleshoot manufacturing and quality issues directly on the factory floor.

• Conduct or oversee inspections and quality-control processes throughout production.

• Work with woven sheeting materials including TENCEL™ Lyocell, bamboo-derived viscose, organic cotton, cotton, and other cellulosic fibers.

• Understand the knitted and woven yarns, materials, construction techniques, and manufacturing processes used in blankets, comforters, and related products.

• Coordinate Sunday Citizen’s specialty Snug yarn, a polyester feather yarn currently sourced from China, into Vietnamese factories and oversee sampling and production using this material.

• Ensure manufacturing partners consistently meet Sunday Citizen’s standards for quality, construction, cost, timing, and delivery.

• Build strong, direct relationships with factory owners, management, production teams, and QC teams.

• Maintain close communication with Sunday Citizen’s US-based Product Development and Merchandising teams.

• Provide regular updates on factory development, samples, costing, production, quality, timelines, risks, and delivery.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Significant sourcing and production experience specifically within the home-textile and bedding industry.

• A strong, established network of relevant home-textile and bedding factories in Vietnam.

• Demonstrated experience sourcing and manufacturing bed sheets, bedding, comforters, knitted blankets, woven blankets, and related home-textile products.

• Strong technical understanding of weaving, knitting, textile construction, yarns, fabrics, dyeing, finishing, and manufacturing processes.

• Experience working with materials such as TENCEL™ Lyocell, bamboo viscose, organic cotton, cotton, and other cellulosic fabrics.

• Strong knowledge of costing, FOB pricing, MOQs, factory negotiations, production management, lead times, and quality control.

• Ability to read and work directly from tech packs and detailed product specifications.

• Hands-on experience identifying and resolving production and quality issues directly with factories.

• Strong negotiation and supplier-management skills.

• Ability and willingness to travel frequently to factories throughout Vietnam.

• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• English proficiency sufficient to work directly with a US-based Product Development and Merchandising team.

Factory Network Requirement

An existing Vietnamese factory network is essential.

The successful candidate should already know which factories are appropriate for Sunday Citizen’s product categories and be able to begin making introductions and running samples shortly after joining.

We are specifically looking for someone who can take our existing products and specifications to qualified factories and quickly determine their technical capabilities, quality standards, realistic costing, MOQs, capacity, lead times, and ability to move into production.

This role is not intended for someone who would need to spend an extended period building a sourcing network from scratch.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate combines deep home-textile expertise, an established Vietnamese factory network, sourcing capabilities, technical product knowledge, production management, negotiation skills, and hands-on quality-control experience.

They should be equally comfortable walking through a weaving or knitting factory, reviewing bed-sheet construction and specifications, negotiating specialty-yarn costs and MOQs, working from tech packs, reviewing comforter construction, troubleshooting quality problems on the production floor, managing quality control, and negotiating FOB pricing and production terms directly with factory management.

Most importantly, this person should already understand the Vietnamese home-textile manufacturing ecosystem, know the right factories, and have the relationships necessary to help Sunday Citizen begin sampling and developing products immediately rather than starting the sourcing process from zero.

Compensation & Engagement Structure

Sunday Citizen is open to different structures depending on the right candidate:

• Full-time Employee: Compensation package based on experience, capabilities, and market expectations.

• Independent Sourcing Agent: Commission-based structure tied to purchases/production.

The priority is finding the right person with the technical expertise, factory relationships, and ability to execute immediately, regardless of which engagement structure ultimately makes the most sense.
